Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Nashville, TN

Manage and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips; operate Alaris pumps and BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, and multiple oxygen delivery systems. Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 on days
• Manage and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips; operate Alaris pumps and BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Perform and assist with unit procedures including peritoneal dialysis, central line dressing changes, wound vac troubleshooting, and NG/Dobhoff tube insertions
• Conduct hourly rounding and maintain AIDET communication standards; update communication boards as required
• Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed per floating policy
• Document patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure valid in Tennessee (or compact license)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills with EKG rhythm interpretation experience
• Experience with cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peripheral IV insertion

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Peritoneal dialysis experience
• Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
