Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Morgantown, WV

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a combined Stepdown and Floor unit (31 beds) managing a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, MedSurg, IDDM, COPD, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and pain management cases. Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, respiratory therapy, and nurse aides to deliver safe, coordinated patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Stepdown and Floor unit (31 beds) managing a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, MedSurg, IDDM, COPD, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and pain management cases
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on the Stepdown unit and 1:5–6 on the Floor unit
• Titrate drips in the Stepdown setting and manage Heparin infusions on the Floor
• Monitor telemetry, read, and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently; telemetry technicians are available on unit
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, respiratory therapy, and nurse aides to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
• Adhere to holiday coverage expectations and dress code requirements (Royal Blue scrubs)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Demonstrated ability to titrate IV drips, including Heparin infusions
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry/cardiac rhythm strips
• Compliance with facility eligibility requirements for travel nursing placements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with a high-acuity, multi-diagnosis patient population including cardiac and trauma patients
• Experience working in a telemetry-monitored unit environment
