Travel RN – PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 or 5:1 patient ratio
- Perform and interpret EKG monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
- Assist with or support occasional procedures such as paracentesis or thoracentesis
- Document accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR
- Float to ICU or Med-Surg units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced stepdown environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Idaho or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Strong critical thinking and EKG interpretation skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience titrating cardiac medications
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to adapt in a dynamic unit environment
