Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit serving patients with rhythm disturbances, heart failure, MI, CCL recovery, and medical/surgical overflow
- Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, Dopamine, and others
- Monitor patients via telemetry with support from a telemetry tech monitoring unit
- Care for patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) and pacemakers
- Float across multiple campuses as needed, supporting continuity of care across facilities
- Maintain expected night shift patient ratios of 1:5–6
Required Qualifications
- Active Iowa RN license or multistate/compact license (must reflect active status at time of submission)
- BLS certification through AHA or ARC (required)
- ACLS certification through AHA or ARC (required)
- Minimum 24 months of experience in Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care nursing
- Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation and cardiac drip/titration management
- Experience with ICD and pacemaker patient populations
- Level II Trauma experience (required)
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on Driver's License)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Level I Trauma experience
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
- First-time travelers welcome provided at least 12 months of Med/Tele, Cardiac/Tele, or PCU experience has been completed
