    Travel RN – Trauma Stepdown

    Location

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide stepdown-level nursing care for post-operative and trauma patients including those recovering from trauma surgery, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, and general surgery procedures
    • Monitor and manage patients with neurological diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, TBI, altered mental status, new-onset seizures, and hypertensive crisis
    • Care for cardiac patients including those with chest pain, CHF, unstable angina, suspected MI, acute cardiac dysrhythmias, and pre/post cardiac cath lab procedures
    • Administer and monitor IV drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardizem, Dopamine, and other vasoactive or specialty infusions
    • Perform telemetry monitoring and patient assessments every four hours per unit guidelines
    • Float as needed to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care and Heart and Vascular units
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • ACLS certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
    • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
    • Strong customer service and communication skills
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior trauma or orthopedic nursing experience
    • Experience with Meditech EMR
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a team-oriented approach
