Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Trauma Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma and surgical patients within a 25-bed floor unit and a 6-bed intermediate care stepdown unit using a multidisciplinary team approach
- Manage patient assignments at established ratios: Floor RN 1:5 / SDU 1:3
- Perform skills including IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
- Apply Level 1 Trauma experience in a fast-paced stepdown environment
- Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; minimum 1 year of in-specialty experience required
- WV or Compact RN License required (pending license accepted for submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be through the American Heart Association)
- Fit test required prior to start date (candidates may need to travel up to 100 miles to complete)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
- Must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background in PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU settings strongly preferred
- TNCC certification preferred
- First-time travelers with ICU or Trauma experience will be considered
- CPI certification preferred (coordination assistance available through Qualivis)
