Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, arterial line management, chest tube management, heparin and IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, pre/post cardiac catheterization and angiogram care, post-MI care, heart failure and renal failure management, femoral access site management, TR band application and weaning, feeding tube management, PCA pumps, phlebotomy, IV insertion and management, and use of rapid response/code teams. Work with advanced cardiac technologies including titratable vasoactive drips, invasive monitoring, arterial lines, central lines, and post-procedure management for cardiac cath, pacemakers, and electrophysiology interventions.

Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts (7:00am - 7:30pm), Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 4x12 schedules also accepted. Patient ratio 1:4. 36 hours of orientation provided.

• Provide expert care in a 23-bed cardiac telemetry and progressive care unit serving intermediate and general cardiology patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedures
• Work with advanced cardiac technologies including titratable vasoactive drips, invasive monitoring, arterial lines, central lines, and post-procedure management for cardiac cath, pacemakers, and electrophysiology interventions
• Epic charting system in use with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries
• Unit expansion beginning this summer to include external pacemaker management and broader cardiac surgical population, offering opportunities to develop expertise in high-acuity cardiac care
• Collaborative, team-driven culture emphasizing shared governance, quality improvement, and comprehensive patient education

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 3 years of recent cardiac telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, no errors on 3rd degree heart blocks, and 80% overall passing score
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to float as needed
