Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care / Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts available (7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am). Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 3:1 patient ratio.

  • Progressive Care and Intermediate Care telemetry units serving thoracic surgery, cardiac stepdown, and medical oncology patients
  • Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, respiratory services, and pharmacy
  • Care for complex patient populations including lung and esophageal procedures, cardiac surgery stepdown, and hospitalist patients
  • Opportunity to work with advanced equipment and evidence-based nursing practices in a teaching institution environment
  • Travel assignment with floating required as needed between units

Requirements:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience within the last 3 years in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, or PCU/IMC/Stepdown specialty
  • Ventilator and transplant experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict criteria (80% passing score, 100% identification of lethal rhythms)
  • Strong clinical skills including cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, chest tubes, ventilator management, and central line care
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility
