Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Travel between two units: D6/5 IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and B4/3 IMC Thoracic Surgery unit
• Care for a variety of thoracic surgery patients including those with lung and esophageal diseases, lobectomies, decortications, esophagectomies, and other thoracic procedures
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion in the procedure room located within the unit
• Patient ratio is 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• Thoracic experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Charting experience with Epic required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA only), Wisconsin RN or compact RN license
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care/management, chest tube management, titration of vasoactive and insulin drips, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, and more
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

The thoracic surgery unit cares for patients with diagnoses including esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, wedge resection surgery, cardiac surgery stepdown, and hospitalist patients.
