Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs; reassess patients systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and patient outcomes, modifying care plans as needed.
- Coordinate team assignments and delegate unit work appropriately, following up on delegated tasks to ensure quality and completeness of patient care.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning; implement and document timely, patient-appropriate interventions.
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures and maintain compliance with all patient and environmental safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the AHA.
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a critical care or ICU setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served in a critical care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, adapting to the developmental needs of patients and families.
- Experience with floating to additional units or locations as needed.
