Registered Nurse – ICU (Float Pool)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 3x12-Hour Rotating Day/Night Shifts (7:00–19:30 / 19:00–7:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in ICU settings as part of a float pool assignment, covering all TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU
- Float to multiple departments and facilities as needed based on patient census and staffing requirements
- Deliver high-acuity nursing care in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment
- Complete non-billable orientation modules prior to start and annually as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Teaching hospital experience required
- 2 completed references from most recent employer required at time of submission
- All prior employment at any University of California medical facility or affiliated facility must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of offer; no additional RTO requests will be accepted mid-contract
- Local candidates are accepted and are held to the same requirements as travel candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2.5 or more years of ICU experience
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
