    Registered Nurse – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

    Location

    San Antonio, TX | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36 hours/week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting, utilizing strong critical thinking skills to manage complex, critically ill patients
    • Perform and assist with procedures including chest tubes, tracheostomies, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, GI scopes, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
    • Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner using the Meditech electronic documentation system
    • Adhere to unit badging requirements, punctuality standards, and a mandatory 30-minute lunch break per shift
    • Participate in floating to other units in accordance with facility floating policy — all travelers are expected to float per facility policy
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Texas RN License required — temporary licenses will not be accepted
    • Minimum 2–3 years of ICU experience required
    • ACLS certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • NIH Stroke Certification required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • MICU and/or MSICU background strongly preferred
    • Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
    • Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
    • Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
