    Registered Nurse – ICU (MICU)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing complex diagnoses including sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and overdose
    • Interpret EKG strips and monitor telemetry using Philips monitoring systems; read and document rhythm interpretations independently
    • Manage and titrate a wide variety of vasoactive and cardioactive drips per physician-outlined parameters
    • Provide advanced care for ventilated patients, including management of arterial lines, central lines, and respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow)
    • Collaborate with intensivists, telemedicine intensivist support, charge RNs, house supervisors, and patient care technicians across all shifts
    • Float to step-down or general medical units as needed, adjusting patient assignments accordingly (up to 3–4 patients)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • Proficiency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm strip reading
    • Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and care of ventilated patients
    • Demonstrated ability to titrate vasopressors and other vasoactive/cardioactive medications
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen; position is located on a drug-free campus
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical ICU or critical care setting
    • Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
    • Experience managing patients with COVID-19 in an ICU environment
