    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU

    Location

    Kearney, NE | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift (18:30–06:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday) | Minimum of 2 holidays within contract period

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16, managing a 1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio for adult patients
    • Care for patients with complex diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, respiratory distress, overdose/substance abuse, post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular cases, and heart failure
    • Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
    • Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment; tele tech oversight is also in place
    • Manage patients on respiratory support ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
    • Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg as needed, maintaining typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license with ICU experience
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
    • Must successfully pass an open-book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higher (administered on Wednesdays during orientation)
    • Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
    • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required for contract continuation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with titratable drips including cardiac, insulin, and sedation infusions
    • Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems and telemetry interpretation
    • Experience caring for diverse ICU populations including trauma, cardiac, and neurological patients
