Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, ICU/Surgical ICU – Kansas

Start Date: September 22, 2026

Location: Wichita, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 48 hours per week; 6-week Rapid Response assignment; no requests for time off or special scheduling during assignment; Patient ratios of 1:2 standard, or 1:1 for high acuity including post-CABG patients (estimated ratios)

Highlights:
  • Critical care experience in a 26-bed ICU/Surgical ICU setting within a large trauma facility
  • Work with advanced technology including balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia equipment, and ECMO
  • Diverse case mix: trauma patients, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients
  • Hands-on procedures including chest tubes, central lines, and medication drips
  • EMR system: Meditech
  • 6-week contract duration for rapid response coverage
Requirements:
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Kansas (or eligible for compact state licensure)
  • Minimum 1 year of current hospital ICU experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required (must be included in application)
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Prior travel experience to large trauma facilities strongly preferred
  • CAPS (Credentialing Application Processing Service) required after acceptance
