This role involves providing critical care in an intensive environment and requires someone who can adapt quickly to different challenges and float to various units as needed.

Key Responsibilities of the RN - ICU- Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Collects data relevant to patient's condition and reports critical values to physician in a timely manner.
- Assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic data.
- Documents findings of physical assessment and is able to identify abnormal findings.
- Develops plan of care based on patient need.
- Advocates on behalf of the patient and their family.
- Performs interventions according to patient need and hospital policy.
- Evaluates patient outcomes in relation to goals.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and exercises the utmost care when interacting with patients.
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions and maintains open communication with nursing management.
- Other duties as deemed appropriate by management.
- Will float to the following units: North 2, North 3, ICU/CCU, or ED.
Requirements of the RN - ICU- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Licensure to practice in New York State.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Recent Emergency Department and critical care experience.
- NIHSS Certification.
- Moderate Sedation Certification.
- Current TNCC.
- Must be able to work EOW (every other weekend).
