ICU Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 3+ years of RN ICU experience License: Valid Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: RNs must be comfortable and proficient in handling Neuro Patients. Previous Charge Experience: 2 years preferred. Patient Ratio Experience: 2:1. Description: The ICU unit sees a variety of complex patient cases. Registered Nurses will be expected to manage critical care situations. Flexibility to float to other units may be required based on patient census. Travel nurses can anticipate a notice of 1.5 hours prior to shift start for floating assignments. Shuttles are available for those who float to different locations within the facility. Weekly schedules include every other weekend. Skills in managing ventilated patients and critical care protocols are essential. Emergency medications and advanced monitoring are integral aspects of the role. Candidates must be adept in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing dysrhythmias. Management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction or failure is also expected. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are necessary to coordinate care effectively. Availability for additional shifts and on-call may be required based on unit needs. Compliance with unit protocols and adherence to infection prevention measures is mandatory.
