ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Conscious sedation, Telemetry, Vents experience Description: The ICU RN position involves working weekdays with every other weekend off. The average patient load is approximately 0.2 patients per day. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting. Certifications required include BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Experience in conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management is essential. Candidates should have skills in accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and assisting with chest tube insertion/removal. Candidates must be proficient in blood product administration and care of ventilated patients. Knowledge of central line care/management and managing chronic/acute renal failure is required. The position also requires the ability to administer emergency medications and manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. Candidates should be able to interpret arterial blood gases and manage IV drips and sedation protocols. Team collaboration is essential, as interdisciplinary support is available. The ICU environment provides care for adult and geriatric patients. A strong commitment to infection prevention and isolation precautions is expected.
