Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience with Bipap, Cpap, Heated High Flow, Oxygen titration, Moderate Sedation, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical patient care. - Strong critical thinking and time management skills. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in an Intensive Care Unit setting. RNs will engage with a diverse patient population, focusing on safe patient outcomes. Specific cases managed may include pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, COVID-19, and pulmonary embolism, along with complex cases requiring significant nursing skills. Required procedures include oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, moderate sedation monitoring, chest tubes, tracheostomies, postoperative care, and mechanical ventilation. RNs will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and physical therapists. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. The unit has a capacity of 30 medical-surgical beds, with the ability to expand based on patient volume. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:3 in progressive care during day shifts and 1:5-6 during night shifts. RNs will participate in committees focused on patient experience, performance improvement, and clinical reasoning, reflecting the organization's mission and values. The nursing team is dedicated to maintaining high safety and quality care standards while also fostering professional development.
