Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in specialty - Strong Medical-Surgical background Description: Primarily PCU with floating to ICU. Travelers must float throughout the designated regional facilities as needed. Medical state tax will be auto-deducted, but can be re-added. Unit consists of 82 critical care beds, including 48 ICU and 34 PCU. ICU nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, while PCU ratios are 1:3. Charge nurse available on each floor with nurse aides present. Weekend shifts required on every other weekend. Holidays are rotated with permanent staff. No specific scrub color requirements. Monitor techs are only in the PCU. ICU level drips will be utilized. Vents are present in the ICU. A dedicated hospitalist or intensivist is available on-site during days. Night shift support is accessible via virtual resources. An ARNP is available for procedures overnight. IV and respiratory therapy teams are available 24/7. Pharmacy support is also available around the clock. Shifts run from 7 AM to 7 PM. Float eligibility includes all ICU and PCU units. Orientation will be conducted with educational support. Common diagnoses include all critical care cases. Travelers are not required to perform certain advanced procedures unless experienced. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled during the assignment. Charting is completed using the designated electronic medical record system. Experience in critical care nursing is essential.
