Key Responsibilities
Float across multiple units including Critical Care, Observation, Med/Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care
Manage 1–3 patients depending on acuity, following standard AACN CCU staffing guidelines
Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips including Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, Midazolam, and CIS
Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and CPAP
Read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring systems alongside monitor technician support
Participate in self-scheduling with 3 weekend shifts per schedule block and required holiday coverage
Required Qualifications
Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
EPIC EMR experience required
Prior float pool or cross-unit floating experience required (float pool, multi-facility, or cross-floor assignments)
Preferred Experience / Skills
High acuity patient care experience strongly preferred
Experience with cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patient populations
Device training and competency check-off experience (e.g., specialty drips and monitoring devices)
Familiarity with Cerner documentation systems
