Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Strong cardiac knowledge required Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in intensive care unit nursing. The nurse will work under a 1:2 patient ratio. Weekends are required every other week. The role includes caring for patients with respiratory failure, acute chest pain, cardiac arrest, and sepsis. Nurses will manage complex medical diagnoses, including multi-organ failure and acute strokes. Key responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and facilitating patient care. Nurses will utilize skills in central line care, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with IV pumps, CRRT, and ventilators is essential. The work environment is multidisciplinary, often requiring collaboration with different healthcare professionals. The role may involve floating within the service line as needed. The nurse must adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and families. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, but block scheduling is not available. RNs with prior charge experience are preferred but not required.
