Description:
Unit will consider candidates after prescreen and manager review.
Clinician must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract.
If a clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, then they will be disqualified for 6 months.
Candidates must reside 50 miles away from the facility and cannot be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any related facility within the past year.
The float pool includes ICU, MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU.
The unit has patients holding in Emergency Department as well.
The team will manage an average census of 20 patients.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4 in PCU and 1:5-6 in MedSurg Tele.
Common patient diagnoses include geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, and post-procedure care for cardiovascular issues.
Nurses will be required to titrate drips, including common medications such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
Each unit will have a charge nurse who does not take assignments.
Nurse aides will be utilized across all settings.
Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow in the PCU.
Telemetry monitoring is available with a care team responsible for monitoring strips and interpretation.
Scheduling is done by a scheduler, and blocks or preferences may be accommodated when possible.
Weekend requirements include every other weekend.
Travelers will participate in the permanent staff rotation for holiday coverage.
On shifts with excessive staff, there may be a standby requirement.
Units will assign work via text message 2 hours prior to the start of the shift.
Solid color professional scrubs are required; adherence to the dress code is necessary.
Cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per contract, or 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks.
Charting is done through a specified electronic system.
A BSN is not required for this position.
This role is set in an acute care environment.
