Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Staffing Resources Float Pool Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in an ICU setting for at least 1 year - Ability to manage various titratable drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin Description: The position involves working in a float pool covering various units including ICU, MedSurg, Tele, and PCU. Candidates must be prepared to float to different areas and adapt to diverse patient populations and care settings. Common diagnoses include geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, and post-procedural patients from a cath lab program. Nurses will care for patients with conditions such as post-myocardial infarction and post-cardiac catheterization. The nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:4 for PCU and 1:5-6 for MedSurg Tele. Applicants are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing. All nurses must be able to interpret cardiac strips as monitor technicians provide monitoring support in specified units. Scheduling is done by a central office, and shifts will be communicated to nurses two hours prior to the start of their shift. Flexibility is necessary, as all staff, including travelers, will participate in weekend and holiday rotations. There may be a call or standby requirement during shifts with excessive staffing. Standard surgical scrubs are required, with specific colors designated for professional appearance.
