Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS (preferred but not required - TNCC) Must-Have: Advanced skills in hemodynamic and ventilator management. Experience in trauma patient management, IV administration of vasoactive medications, ventilator management, chest tube management, care of post-op surgical patients, cardiac rhythm identification and management, and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with the care of stroke patients. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the ICU unit. The unit has 32 beds with a patient ratio of 2:1. The unit staffing includes unit secretaries and tech availability. Documentation system used is Meditech. The schedule requires three 12-hour shifts with every other weekend or four weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule period. Nursing professionals may be required to float to similar units based on overall hospital needs. Desired experience includes 2 years of ICU experience, with a preference for trauma management skills. Procedures performed on the unit include chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, arterial line, and central line placement. Uniform requirements specify navy scrub tops and solid-colored bottoms and jackets. This unit is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level 1 Trauma Center. Candidates should consider the advanced technology, equipment, and the experienced tenure of the staff when selecting this assignment.
