**Join Our Team as an Infusion Nurse!**
**Job Description:**
- Are you ready to make a real impact in patient care?
- As an Infusion Nurse, you'll provide specialized nursing care to patients receiving vital intravenous and injectable therapies.
- Work Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, focusing on quality patient interactions and care when it matters most.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess patient condition before, during, and after treatments
- Review medical history, laboratory results, and treatment orders
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses throughout treatments
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other IV and injectable medications
- Access and manage vascular devices, including ports, PICC lines, and central lines
- Follow strict protocols for the safe handling of hazardous drugs
- Ensure accurate dosage calculations and infusion rates
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications
- Provide emergency interventions as necessary
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and symptom management
- Guide patients on infection prevention and self-care during treatment
- Offer emotional support to patients throughout the therapy process
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmacists, and other professionals
- Communicate patient concerns or changes in condition effectively
- Document treatment administration, patient responses, and side effects in electronic medical records
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies
- Perform other duties as requested
**Qualifications:**
- Active WI Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- BLS certification required or to be obtained within 1 month of hire
- ACLS required or to be obtained within 1 year of hire
- Current ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card or obtained within 6 months of hire
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
- Proficient in IV therapy and vascular access management
- Knowledgeable in chemotherapy safety and hazardous drug handling
- Skilled in patient education and providing emotional support
- Strong critical thinking and ability to respond rapidly to reactions
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Self-starter with outstanding interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
