**Job Description:**
- Are you a compassionate nurse with a desire to make a real impact?
- As an Infusion Nurse, you will provide specialized care to patients receiving vital intravenous and injectable therapies.
- You will play a crucial role in administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other essential treatments with precision and care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess patient conditions before, during, and after treatments.
- Review medical histories, laboratory results, and treatment orders for accuracy.
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses during treatment sessions.
- Administer medications safely and efficiently via IV and injectable routes.
- Manage access to vascular devices, including ports and central lines.
- Follow strict protocols for the safe handling of hazardous drugs.
- Calculate dosages accurately and manage infusion rates diligently.
- Observe and respond to any adverse reactions or complications.
- Provide emergency interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and potential side effects.
- Offer guidance on infection prevention and self-care throughout the treatment process.
- Support patients emotionally every step of the way.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmacists, and other professionals.
- Document treatment administration and patient responses in electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications:**
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact Licensure RNs to obtain WI license within 90 days).
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- BLS certification (required or obtained within 1 month of hire).
- ACLS certification (required or obtained within 1 year of hire).
- Current ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card (or obtained within 6 months).
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
- Expertise in IV therapy and vascular access management.
- Understanding of chemotherapy safety and hazardous drug handling.
- Strong skills in patient education and emotional support.
- Exceptional critical thinking and rapid response capabilities.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
