Job Summary:
The healthcare organization is seeking an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a high-acuity environment, with a focus on trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, and respiratory distress. The ICU team manages a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 16, requiring skilled RNs to monitor and support critically ill patients.

Job Details:

  • Position Description: ICU RN at a 33-bed acute care unit with an average census of 16; responsible for managing trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and other critical conditions.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
  • Education and Experience: Registered Nurse license required, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience needed.
  • Location Requirements: Candidates must meet the radius rule of 50 miles, with verification via driver's license; travel outside the radius may not be accepted.
  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Shifts run from 0630-1830 or 1830-0630; self-scheduling is permitted for core staff, travelers included.
  • Additional Responsibilities: RNs will be required to titrate cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and troubleshoot ventilators, nasal cannulas, and other respiratory equipment. Monitoring and interpreting GE monitors are also part of the role.
  • Staffing and Orientation: One shift of unit-specific orientation; RTO requests must be submitted upfront for seven days or less.
  • Other Details: Every other weekend work; minimum of 2 holidays during the contract.
  • Submission Requirements: Active RN license; candidates must pass a pass/fail skills exam with a 90% score during orientation.
