ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing exceptional care to critically ill adult patients across various medical emergencies and post-surgical needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in a step-down unit, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients.
  • Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, implementing appropriate interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust treatment plans.
  • Document patient care accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records.
  • Participate in patient and family education regarding care plans and health management.
  • Provide support and guidance to nursing staff and ancillary personnel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
  • Proficient in the use of Epic electronic medical records system.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA required.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work night shifts, including every third weekend.

Patient Care Areas

The ICU team provides care for a variety of cases, including:

  • Critically ill adult patients facing medical emergencies, respiratory failure, sepsis, and post-surgical recovery.
  • Management of select pediatric critical care cases when stabilization is necessary.
  • Stroke patients, as the unit is equipped to handle acute stroke care and is certified as a Primary Stroke Center.
