ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This position requires collaboration with physicians to develop and implement comprehensive care plans aimed at optimizing patient health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments.
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences as needed.
• Identify and address patients’ ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs.
• Engage in professional development and seek educational opportunities to enhance nursing skills.
• Teach and guide both professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precept and mentor new staff and nursing students.
• Function as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and effective delegation of assignments.

Essential Skills

• Effective communication skills to convey relevant information clearly.
• Strong organizational skills for effective planning and task management.

Position Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting is required.
• Ability to float to Emergency Department and Step Down units as necessary.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Preferred certifications include TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Neurosurgical and open-heart experience are considered advantageous.

This position adheres to a strict attendance policy. Registered Nurse contractors are expected to maintain exemplary attendance, as attendance strikes may lead to termination. Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
