ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical care skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in an intensive care setting.

Job Description

This position involves collaborating with physicians to formulate treatment plans aimed at restoring patients to optimal health. Responsibilities include providing bedside nursing care, executing medical orders, and overseeing the functions of Nurse Assistants and other support staff. The ICU RN will also assess the effectiveness of care plans and ensure comprehensive discharge planning for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice and facilitate coordination of care tasks.
• Lead patient conferences and educate patients and families about discharge/transfer needs.
• Engage in professional development through educational opportunities within the organization or community.
• Guide and mentor new employees and nursing students, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure clear understanding of patient care needs.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills through effective planning and prioritization of nursing tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Required experience with open heart procedures.
• Ability to float to Emergency Department and Step Down units as needed.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Preferred certifications include TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN.
• Travel experience is a plus.
• Neurosurgical experience is also preferred.
