ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of current ICU or critical care nursing experience
• At least 2 years of current medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
• Active New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Current influenza vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• Ability to float between critical care, medical-surgical/telemetry units, and multiple campuses based on patient-care needs

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU/CCU float pool
• Adapt quickly to assignments across critical care and medical-surgical/telemetry environments
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and recognize changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments while following clinical protocols and patient-safety standards
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Cerner
• Support continuity of care through effective handoffs, patient education, and discharge planning
• Maintain professional nursing standards while working every other weekend and every other holiday as scheduled
