Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity available in a medical facility located in a metropolitan area. The role involves providing specialized care to neuro and critical care patients on a 12-hour night shift schedule, with a strong emphasis on collaborative teamwork within ICU settings. The position requires adaptable RNs capable of managing complex patient needs in a high-acuity environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend or half of the weekends, with holiday requirements as needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; minimum of 2 years ICU experience; ability to read and interpret Spacelabs monitoring strips.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in similar size or larger ICU units; familiarity with titratable medication drips such as Dopamine, Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, Cardene, Nitro, Neo, Vasopressin, Diltiazem, Insulin, Esmolol.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, including to other ICU units within the valley or outside of ICU to be a 1:1 sitter.
  • Additional Information: The unit is staffed with charge nurses and resource nurses on each shift. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, with nurse aides on duty at a ratio of 1:8. RTs (Respiratory Therapists) are available 24/7 with equipment such as vents, BiPAP, and Cpap. The facility utilizes EPIC charting system. New hires will undergo a 1-2 shift orientation, with flexibility to float to nearby medical centers as needed. The facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule based on applicants' permanent addresses.
