Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (Mids/Nights: 1500, 1900 start times) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department averaging 200 patients per day, serving a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Manage high-acuity cases including trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, DKA, respiratory emergencies, and adult psychiatric presentations
- Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV access, medication administration including drips, and procedural sedation
- Administer blood products and cardiac medications; TNK administration experience preferred
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic electronic health record system
- Monitor patients via central and bedside telemetry at the nursing station; Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI/MOAB
- Recent Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start date
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with TNK (tenecteplase) administration
- Background working with high geriatric populations including falls and STEMI cases
- Familiarity with procedural sedation protocols in an ED setting
