Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Contract | 12-Hour Mid Shifts | Every Other Weekend Rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly, including minor complaints through critically ill presentations
- Manage and titrate a wide variety of drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor strips independently using Philips monitoring equipment
- Draw and collect labs in coordination with ED techs; collaborate with respiratory therapy on ventilator and airway equipment management
- Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; support charge nurses and specialized trauma team as needed
- Maintain compliance with a drug-free campus policy and adhere to department scheduling requirements including holiday and occasional float assignments as a help-all
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- ENPC or PALS certification required
- TNCC or TNS certification required
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- SANE RN experience
- Experience working in a teaching hospital environment with residents
