Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Rapid Response)
Location
Independence, MO | Acute Care – Emergency Department
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 48 hours per week | 6-week assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with 40+ beds and a 4:1 patient ratio (3 rooms and 1 hall bed during high volume)
- Perform IV starts, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring and interpretation
- Operate and utilize department equipment including cardiac monitors, EKGs, ultrasound, Belmont Rapid Infuser, IO Drills, and Lifepak devices
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNCs, team leads, Advanced Paramedics, EDTs, MHSCs, and unit secretaries
- Maintain all required certifications including BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI (CPI required by 9/30)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Required certifications at time of submission: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC
- CPI certification required by 9/30
- Strong adaptability and ability to function as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- No RTO or special scheduling requests can be accommodated for this assignment
- Must be available to start within 5–7 days of offer
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a high-pressure clinical environment
- Prior background as an RN, Paramedic, or Emergency Department Technician
- Outgoing, positive demeanor with the ability to perform effectively under pressure
