Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Mids Shift (11:00–23:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Weekends Required | Every Other Holiday Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting, including patients across the age spectrum with some pediatric experience expected
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for emergency patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure timely and effective patient outcomes
- Float within scope of practice to other units as staffing needs require
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
- Adhere to all facility compliance, safety, and infection control policies
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday prior to start date)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required; at least 1 year in a Level 1 Trauma Center or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma Center, including some pediatric experience
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required prior to start
- TNCC required (may submit with TNCC pending, but must obtain before start date)
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN degree preferred
- Experience in a high-volume or academic medical center Emergency Department
- Trauma nursing experience at a Level 1 or Level 2 facility
