    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Contract / Travel)

    Location

    Austin, TX | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM | Rotating Weekends | No On-Call Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
    • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in the ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 in cardiac/trauma areas
    • Perform and assist with procedures including splinting, EKGs, central line management, airway support, trauma assists, rapid infusion, and resuscitation
    • Utilize Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid Infusers, and Stryker stretchers in daily patient care
    • Document and manage patient information using MEDITECH EMR
    • Support behavioral health de-escalation and participate as a collaborative team member across all shift types including mid-shifts
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
    • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS — candidates without these certifications will not be considered
    • Ability to work rotating weekends
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience with MEDITECH EMR
    • Trauma experience in an emergency or acute care setting
    • Experience holding inpatient patients within the ED
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
