Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 180–200 visits per day, serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Manage a patient assignment at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, performing own lab draws and IV starts
- Care for a diverse case mix including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological presentations; facility operates as a CVA center
- Coordinate with on-site 24/7 respiratory therapy, pharmacy, central monitoring techs, and nurse aides/paramedics (5–6 per shift)
- Hold and monitor vented patients in the ED until admission, with respiratory therapy support available around the clock
- Complete all facility orientation requirements (ORT) within the first week of assignment; rollover to the following week requires prior leadership approval
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Georgia
- Minimum 5 years of emergency room nursing experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS or NIHSS, and CPI
- Meditech 6.15 EMR experience required
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-acuity emergency department with trauma, neuro, and CVA patient populations
- Familiarity with behavioral health protocols; facility includes a 6-bed locked behavioral health area staffed by psychiatry
- Charge nurse experience a plus
