Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Kansas

Start Date: August 20, 2026

Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Mid-shift scheduling (10:00 AM – 10:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 1:30 AM); every third weekend; 48-hour guaranteed option available

Highlights:

  • Level 2 trauma center experience with 24-bed Emergency Department
  • Comprehensive case mix including trauma, STEMI, stroke, and sepsis management
  • 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with robust support staff including unit secretaries 21 hours daily
  • Advanced equipment including Level 1 fluid warmers, GE monitoring systems, Arctic Sun, Lifepak, and Alaris pumps
  • Meditech documentation system for streamlined charting
  • Minimal floating policy – only in rare circumstances when other staff are flexed home

Requirements:

  • Current Kansas RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency/Trauma nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC, and NIH
  • Preferred certifications: CEN or TCRN, CPI
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in trauma care, STEMI protocols, stroke care, sepsis management, and triage
  • Experience with all procedures associated with Level 2 trauma centers
