Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team at MVHS-Wynn in Utica, New York. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population across all age groups, from newborn to geriatric, within a fast-paced emergency setting.
The Emergency Department is a robust 64-bed unit, featuring specialized areas including 2 Triage rooms, 40 acute care beds, 6 super track beds, 2 dedicated Trauma bays, 10 Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) beds, and 6 psychiatric beds. You will be integral in managing a wide range of critical and acute conditions, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
This position is ideal for a skilled RN who thrives in a challenging environment, possesses strong clinical judgment, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes in a high-volume emergency department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care to a diverse population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, in an emergency setting.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans for individuals presenting with various acute and critical conditions.
- Respond effectively to emergent situations, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record system.
- Float to other units as required by departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Demonstrated experience caring for pediatric patients within an Emergency Department.
- Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Charge Nurse capacity.

- Equipment Proficiency: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun.
- EMR Proficiency: EPIC Electronic Medical Record system.
