Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Aberdeen, Washington. This role is situated in a dynamic emergency department, providing critical care to a diverse patient population experiencing acute illnesses and injuries.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering comprehensive nursing care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This assignment offers the unique opportunity to work in a community close to the scenic Pacific Northwest beaches and the Olympic National Forest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergent conditions.
  • Conduct rapid and thorough patient assessments, prioritize care, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and operate medical equipment according to established protocols.
  • Monitor, interpret, and document patient responses to interventions and treatments.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an Emergency Department RN.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
  • Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Skills & Competencies
  • Exceptional critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in emergent situations.
  • Proficiency in emergency care procedures and interventions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-stress environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Competence in operating standard emergency department equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, ventilators, IV pumps).
  • Demonstrated ability to be a proactive and supportive team player.
