Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years required, first-time travelers accepted License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI (completed during onboarding), NRP, TNCC preferred Must-Have: 2 years of emergency nursing experience Charge experience required Epic charting system experience required Community hospital experience required Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced emergency department. The primary need is for night shifts, with rotating night/evening shifts required. Patient age range includes infants to geriatrics. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, which may increase to 1:5 with lower acuity. Diverse patient diagnoses will be encountered, inclusive of all systems and complex conditions. Every other weekend and holidays are mandatory as scheduled. Floating within the specialty and sister facilities may be required based on staffing needs. Pre-scheduled on-call shifts are not required. The role requires strong skills in managing various medical conditions and emergency situations. The registered nurse will provide care for a wide array of emergency cases including abdominal pain, respiratory infections, and mental health conditions. Other competencies required include intubation, starting and maintaining IVs, and procedural sedation administration. Candidates must be comfortable with floating within the scope of emergency nursing and have the ability to manage violent behavior as necessary.
