Nurses should be able to interpret and act on cardiac rhythms accurately. Emergency Room has a designated team for trauma care and an established patient ratio. Nurse-to-patient ratios vary based on patient acuity. Nurses will collaborate with respiratory therapists for equipment management. The department has support staff, including emergency department technicians. Travelers may occasionally be floated to assist in other units, though this is rare. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required based on department needs. Scrubs should be solid colored and tasteful, with no specific color requirements.
