Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a dynamic role in Athol, Massachusetts. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including initial triage, pain assessment, and ongoing evaluation in the Emergency Department setting.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans based on established standards, protocols, and patient goals.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapy safely and accurately, including vasoactive drips, thrombolytic, and anticoagulation therapies.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac arrhythmias, arterial blood gases, and pulse oximetry, responding to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Provide skilled care for intubated patients, including suctioning, troubleshooting, and weaning support.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions, ensuring continuity of care.
- Prioritize patient care effectively, delegate tasks appropriately, and supervise other healthcare team members.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all patient data, therapeutic interventions, and responses.
- Identify and respond to patient safety risks, including potential abuse (domestic violence, child, elder), violent behavior, and initiate appropriate safety plans and mandated reports.
- Collect and maintain forensic evidence according to policy for specific cases (e.g., stabbings, gunshot wounds, sexual assault).
- Implement components of the Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) bundle consistently.
- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disaster policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN).

- 3-5 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
