Job Opportunity – Emergency Room Holding Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week

Highlights:

• ER Holding unit providing care across the lifespan: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 4:1 patient ratio with 32-bed unit census
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and more
• First-time travelers welcome; minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (all required)
• 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• ER Holding experience required; Medical-Surgical or Telemetry experience preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required

Key Clinical Skills:

• Cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
• Central line and PICC line management
• Care of ventilated patients and airway management
• Chest tube management, arterial line management, and port access
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management (titration skills valued)
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management
