Hemodynamic line management: Arterial lines/CVP
Stroke experience (TPA administration)
Conscious sedation
Assisting with splinting
Description:
The role requires a registered nurse to work in a fast-paced emergency room setting.
The nurse will care for patients of all acuity levels, including infants and those at end of life.
Patient types include those requiring treatment for STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, stroke indicating interventions, spinal precautions, seizures, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, COVID, ETOH, IVDA, GI illnesses, and infections.
Patient ratios will be approximately 1:3-4 or 1:5 in fast-track areas.
The incumbent will work in a supportive environment with a charge nurse who may also take patient assignments.
Phlebotomy services are available in-house, while IV/VAT teams will not be available.
Respiratory therapy is provided in-house, and hospitalists are available 24/7.
Competence in EKG interpretation will be required as part of compliance prior to arrival.
Charting will be done via EMR systems.
The position includes a mandatory weekend rotation of every other weekend.
Shift rotations may include variations such as 4 on and 3 off, or 5 on and 2 off.
There is a holiday expectation requiring work during major holidays.
Professionalism is mandatory, with restrictions on cell phone use in patient care areas and a need for badges to be worn in full view at all times.
Scrubs must be of specified colors, with specific guidelines for t-shirts and jackets.
