Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Candidates must have completed 2-3 travel assignments. Candidates must have 2-3 years of Emergency Room experience. Description: The emergency department has 27 beds and approximately 50 RNs and 25 medics on staff. Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. Staffing increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 AM and by 1-2 RNs at 3 PM. Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. Patient ratios are typically 4-6:1. The department uses Meditech for electronic medical records. Candidates will be prioritized based on their experience in high acuity emergency rooms with fast-paced, high-volume settings. Experience with patient ratios of 5:1 is preferred. Typical procedures performed include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocols with tPA administration, central line placements, care of psychiatric patients, and transfers to other facilities. Ideal candidates will have a relaxed, easy-going personality, be friendly, team-oriented, and respectful. Preferred certifications include ENPC, NRP, and NIH Stroke Scale. No on-call shifts are required. Weekend shifts consist of four weekend shifts in a four-week scheduling period, either Friday or Saturday for nights or Saturday or Sunday for days.
