Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ER experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Candidates must have completed 2-3 travel assignments. Candidates must have 2-3 years of Emergency Room experience. Description: The unit has 27 beds and a staff of 50 RNs and 25 medics. During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. The staff increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 AM and by 1-2 RNs at 3 PM. During the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2-3 medics. Patient ratios are typically 4-6:1. The unit utilizes Meditech for electronic medical records. High acuity and fast-paced experience in emergency rooms is preferred. Experience with patient ratios of 5:1 is a plus. Typical procedures performed include: RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, care of psych patients, and transfers to other facilities. There is no on-call requirement. Weekend shifts consist of four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days) in a four-week scheduling period.
