Charge nurses and nurse aides are present to support the nursing staff, with 5-6 aides per shift. Central monitoring technology is available, allowing for comprehensive patient surveillance. Nurses manage their own IVs, with a dedicated respiratory therapist available 24/7. The team includes various providers with overlapping shifts to ensure continuous care. Nurses are required to complete required training during the first week of assignment. Caribbean blue scrubs are the designated uniform for this position. Weekend and holiday shifts are required on an alternating basis. Common diagnoses include trauma, neurological conditions, and orthopedic injuries. The facility is a designated stroke center and provides stabilization of some trauma cases before transfer. Patient safety is emphasized with security personnel and safety sitters available as needed.
